Chateau de Hauterive Cahors Malbec/Merlot
Een soepele, licht kruidige rode wijn: 80% malbec en 20% merlot. Proef rood fruit, bosbessen, laurier, frisheid, en medium body.
Cahors-wijnen stonden bekend als 'Les Vins Noirs', donkere, tanninerijke wijnen. Nu behouden ze kleur en kracht, maar moderne vinificatie maakt ze toegankelijker.
Sinds 1984 leiden broers Dominique en Gilles Filhol Chateau de Hauterive. Gilles, oenoloog, en Dominique, met groene vingers, beheren 20 ha terraswijngaarden aan de Lot-rivier. Bij Vire-sur-Lot, hartje Cahors, telen ze vooral malbec ('côt' lokaal) en beetje merlot. Authentiek en modern zijn hun missie.
